Guess Who’s Crying about Not Being Invited to a Women-Only Wonder Woman Screening?

Guess who’s mad that they’re not invited to a special, women-only screening of Wonder Woman?

The Alamo Drafthouse, in Austin, Texas, which regularly plays movies, just announced that they’ll be holding a special screening of Wonder Woman for women and people who identify as women. It’s also going to be run by an all-women staff. Anyway, now that this fun sounding plan is in place, a whole bunch of dudes are really not happy with the move. They’ve been screaming about how feminists are taking over the world, and that this is segregation. Big words, bro.

Now, Alamo’s Facebook page is making for a rather fun read because of this. It’s quite hilarious how enraged men have gone from saying things like, “sexist bigots”, to “every man who defends this sexist screening is a slave of women.” The move is being called “reverse sexism”, and others claim that there would be a huge fight if there was a male-only showing of anything. Some dudes think they’ve come up with the oh-so-brilliant idea of dressing up as women just to enter. Seriously, it just gets better and better — I cannot believe their completely hilarious sense of entitlement to watching Wonder Woman. Remember when a whole bunch of guys ranted and raved about how the all-women Ghostbusters (2016) was ruining their childhood?

From what we can see, both Alamo and all the women who’re super excited by this idea have all started taking the case of every dude who is whining.  I saw a woman who’s said that all the men there are whinier than Dudley Dursley (from Harry Potter), and some other fight has broken out about mansplainers telling women how to use a tampon (we’re not sure where that came from). And then there was the moment when Alamo responded to a guy asking them if they’ve ever held a men-only screening by saying, “We’ve never done showings where you had to be a man to get in, but we *did* show the Entourage movie a few years ago.”

And since all the women are super happy, and the tickets were sold out in a couple of hours — Forbes has even reported that since it was so popular, Alamo added a second screening.

Guess what? It’s sold out too.
