One would think After Earth needs Bechdel testing like a fish needs a bicycle, given that it’s about Will Smith’s character and Will Smith’s son’s character (also Will Smith’s character’s son) as the only two human beings on Earth.
But one would be wrong.
I can never see this story happening with a mother and daughter (although as mother-daughter stories go, Brave is a good start). So the test results are: two named female characters, mother and daughter, who never say a word to each other.
