Looking to Secure your Digital Pawprint? Chayn’s Securikitties Have Something Right Up Your Alley

Chayn, an open-source gender and tech project that works in empowering women against violence, released their DIY Online Safety Toolkit yesterday. The guide discusses the numerous ways women can safeguard their identities, information and movements on the Internet, particularly from stalkers, without having to resort to anything drastic like deleting their entire digital footprint.

Chayn’s Securikitties (YESSS!) give you easily digestible tips on issues like basic password protection, alternative web browsers, banking and mobile security, and securing your social media presence, among other things, all while happily making awesome cat puns. The homepage also links you to a test that lets you check how easily trackable your current digital presence is, and once you take it you’ll be extra-glad the folks at Chayn have released this toolkit. The online safety guide comes in both starter and advanced modes depending on the level of detail and security you’re looking for, and is available in eight languages.
