Nicotina says: Everyone must meet the Angel from the 2009 Tamil film Laadam. Charmi Kaur plays Angel. (Charmi is the lead from the Telugu comic mystery Anukokunda Oka Roju, a film miles funnier than its Hindi remake Sunday.)
Angel is an orphan and works for a bottled water company. She doesn’t have a house. The film borrows the conceit of her moving from one empty house to the other from Kim ki Duk’s 3-Iron. Angel meets the hero Kunjithapadam (kunji means penis in Tamizh) in one such house.
Most of the film has her spoofing Tamizh songs and acting styles of everyone from Padmini to Rajini to Dhanush and annoying every character that she comes into contact with, including the hero. Angel is high energy, mad, excessive. The pitch of her performance is an octave higher than Sridevi. Everyone must meet Angel.
