Back on popular demand, Sandbox Collective is collaborating with the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, Bangalore, to produce Gender Bender 2016 this weekend on 3rd and 4th September. Gender Bender is an arts project that invites artists and others working in the field of arts to send in entries for projects that re-look and re-imagine the idea of gender and gender equality.
Sandbox Collective is co-curating the project this year with The Ladies Finger, and there’s an exciting line-up of work by 12 finalists selected out of over a 100 applicants! This year, six finalists are from Bangalore, five are from other places in India and one is from US. All their projects explore gender through different forms of media, from theatre to performance, and other sensory experiences.
