*Updated* IAWRT’s 13th Women’s Film Festival Has Begun!

The 13th edition of festival organised by the International Association of Women in Radio and Television has begun! This morning’s seminar, called Making Records: Documenting will be moderated by documentary filmmaker Paromita Vohra from Agents of Ishq, and will discuss modern feminist documentation practices, touching upon the work of Kali for Women/Zubaan, Khabar Lahariya, Pinjra Tod, activist Vinita Sahasranaman, and happily, yours truly!

It’s on at the India International Centre in New Delhi, so don’t miss it!

February 3rd

The 13th festival organised by the International Association of Women in Radio and Television is around the corner. Scheduled to be held at the India International Centre in New Delhi next month between 2nd and 4th March, it will screen work by women film makers from 17 countries, including Palestine, Iran, Thailand, Korea, and Japan.

There will be 57 screenings, and a couple of seminars. The first one, conducted by filmmaker Paromita Vohra, will look closely at the ways in which women filmmakers over the years have documented their lives and feminism. The second will examine women’s reportage on gender-based violence, and will be led by Archana Kapoor, a filmmaker, activist, and founder of a community radio initiative in Mewat.  And the festival is showcasing a ton of animation, with work by established and upcoming directors around the world.

The filmmakers from India include Sandhya Vishwanathan, Tara Aliya Kesavan, Reema Borah, Nundrisha Wakhloo, Ananya Kasaravalli, Paromita Dhar, Sarvnik Kaur, Tenzin Kunchok, Donna M. Partha, Aishwarya Iyer, Bobby Sarma Baruah, Nupur Basu, Anitha Balachandran, Snigdha Banerjee, Spenta Wadia, Debjani Mukherjee, Pragya Kain, Bhavani Kumar, Agents of Ishq, Tara Sunil, Swati Agarwal, Rohini Devasher, Shubani Singh, Hansa Thapiyal and Tribeny Rai.
