Even half-a-century after her death, Marilyn Monroe continues to be remembered and loved. The actress, known for her work in Hollywood the 1950s, was also known for her incredible confidence in her body and sexuality – arguably making her a popular ‘sex symbol’.

Et voila, fangirls and fanboys, some of the last pictures of Marilyn Monroe are now set to be displayed in an exhibition in Paris. Of course, not everyone can travel to Paris, but some of these are available online as well.

These photos were taken by Bert Stern in Los Angeles, about six weeks before Monroe’s death. They show a soft, more intimate side to her, a side that we don’t often afford our public figures. Stern says, about the series, that he wanted to photograph her one last time – Vogue published the some of these photos right after her death, as a tribute. Now, Monroe continuous to remind us that beauty isn’t only about makeup, and sexiness isn’t only skin-deep.
