Early Sunday morning the police arrested BJP MLC Tunna Pandey in Bihar for molesting a 12–year-old child in a train. Some reports say he was drunk, attempted to molest the fellow passenger on the Poorvanchal Express at three in the morning and tried to drag her to the loo. Her parents registered a complaint and the railway police arrested Pandey.
He has since been quoted as defending himself with “I was just taking out my phone charger, didn’t even know whether it was a girl who was sleeping or a boy.” We are pleased and astonished to note that an FIR has been registered.
The BJP has since suspended Pandey and issued a showcause notice.
