Move over your Tinders and Bharats and Matrimonies, ladies and gents. We have a new player in town. While on the prowl for a jeevan saathi, did you feel she didn’t have the right office timings? Is his profession not “cool enough” to introduce him at house parties? Fear not, childrens. A new app-based platform helps finds you a partner on the basis of * drum roll * their LinkedIn profile. Yep, you read that right. Nope, we wish we were lying.

Promatch has pegged itself as India’s first LinkedIn based matrimonial site. Basically, you’d need a LinkedIn profile to find the man/woman of your office dreams. The app-based platform aims to provide ‘verified’, ‘non-fake’ profiles to choose from, by using LinkedIn as a primary database.

The website draws comparison with dating apps and matrimonial websites. According to Promatch’s website, it is superior to dating apps because the latter is only for ‘casual relationships’. Yes yes, casual relationship is bad for your stomach, no? Almost as bad as the average office canteen food.

It doesn’t stop at that. To know Promatch’s “mission”, you have to solve a puzzle. Oho!

Matrimonial website for intellectuals indeed. Nobody without a LinkedIn profile would be able to solve this complex equation. We are simbly perplexed.

When the curtains open, the mission is revealed to be, to help you “discover people from the same profession, same college, same income group or even the same company for a meaningful relationship”.

We cannot wait to see meaningful testimonials on LinkedIn profiles from these meaningful relationships on Promatch, in all its meaningfulness.
