Actress Sunny Leone is no stranger to Indian trolls. She’s lived through the hypocrisy of her porn star career being secretly celebrated and publicly villainised. But the villainy reached a new level of atrocious when people decided it was okay to troll her about her becoming a mother. According to a report, Leone and her husband, Daniel Weber recently adopted a 11-month-old girl from Latur and have named her Nisha Kaur Weber. She posted a picture on Facebook announcing the happy addition to her life. And then the trolls came washing down on her.
One of them thought it was important to tell Leone to behave like “a good mother” now that she’s adopted a baby. The implication is clear. Sanskaar tf up.
Another troll thinks Leone should have tried to ‘biologically’ have a child instead of adopting one. Yes yes, she lives to hear your advice on what to do with her body and life.
They didn’t stop at that. They comments went from unsolicited advice to slut shaming. One commenter expressed his disgust at how a porn star could be allowed to be a mother. We would like to express our disgust at how he was allowed to be a person. Another commenter went right down the racism lane by comparing the baby’s skin colour to that of Leone’s. What a marvel it would be if he paints his face invisible.
Sunny Leone does not need your support, sympathy or have your ideas of how to raise her child imposed upon her. She could certainly do without these excuses for human beings vomiting all over her happy moment.
