The Ladies Finger talks about the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 on RadioOne Mumbai

On Wednesday evening, we got a phone call from Erica D’Souza, the host of RadioOne Mumbai’s show Drive Mumbai, asking us about the Women’s Football World Cup. The Finger’s Deepika Sarma chatted with Erica about sexism at FIFA, the lack of news coverage of the  Women’s World Cup in India and exciting players to look out for, and moaned about how even though our Indian women’s team is ranked much better than the men’s team, they still don’t receive the same amount of infrastructure and funding. Listen in for more about women’s football!

A correction: Japan’s Homare Sawa isn’t the only woman to have played in six World Cups. Brazil’s Formiga, the oldest goal-scorer in Women’s World Cup history, is playing in her sixth World Cup as well.
