Some apparently liberal dude on the Internet AKA Professor Rohit Chopra (@IndiaExplained) said this about Akshay Kumar meeting Narendra Modi yesterday:
He’s being called a misogynist for it for all kinds of good reasons: the patronising use of the word “cute”, for one, but more importantly, the straight-from-the-Dark-Ages belief that men and women in marriages should have exactly the same political beliefs, or that Khanna’s views should somehow be influenced by Kumar’s.
Twinkle Khanna, of course, wasn’t having any of it, and gave dude a fitting reply:
Better than a regressive tweet like this that calls ‘progressive’ pieces fluff and believes that marriage means sharing the same ideologies https://t.co/PwvKH0zwl3

Since people have been blasting him for his misogyny, he’s posted some sulky tweets about journalists being paid to write about Bollywood celebrities, and has asked Twinkle Khanna to confirm to him directly that she’s a Modi critic. Honestly, if you weren’t convinced that this dude’s a bit of a misogynist from his first tweet at Twinkle Khanna, the ones that follow in response to the outrage should leave you convinced.

I just wanted to point out that while the guy who wrote the tweet about Khanna did come off highly judgemental and misogynistic and the comment against her was in poor taste he did accept the feedback that was shot back at him from Khanna and a few others. He, however, still stuck to the question he wanted answered in the first place and that was, ‘Would Khanna write against Modi govt’s inaction and a whole lot of hypocrisy regarding its attitude towards the minorities.’ He voiced his skepticism that she wouldn’t in light of Akshay Kumar’s open support of the Modi Govt. He didn’t get any response to that. I am not saying he is entitled to a response but what is wrong with his question?

There is no unanimity of opinion regarding Modi. Some may feel he is inept, others may think he’s not and many more, everything in between. So just because you and the other guy consider Modi in poor light, it doesn’t mean that everyone should!
