Anushree Fadnavis is a Bombay-based photojournalist with the news agency Indus Images. She also does this amazing photo series on her personal Instagram account, capturing snapshots of the people, particularly women, that she sees on Mumbai’s local trains.
Some of photos in her series have a bit of a Humans of New York vibe to them too, just in terms of how personal they can get. Fadnavis always tends to name the people in her photographs, and many are accompanied by descriptions of their lives and circumstances. They’re really great snapshots of daily life as it unfolds on local trains in Bombay, and leaves you with this kind of warm nostalgic feeling (even if, like me, you’ve never been on a local train in Bombay).
