The Museum of Memories is an installation seriesis a collaborative effort between the Sandbox Collective and the Portuguese architect Eduardo da Conceição. In its first edition it will take a close look at victim shaming, moral policing, and ‘provocative’ clothing, through snippets of film, photography, and art. This first edition was kicked off in the aftermath of the recent spate of molestations in Bangalore and speaks directly to the events of New Year’s Eve by having a closed booth where people can open up about sexual harassment.

A 24-year-old photographer, Richa Bhavanam, has created a series depicting women’s harassment using only static mannequins, and this is only one of the many intriguing works on exhibit, as the installation showcases the work of 17 artists, who unpack themes and challenge norms like sexual violence and behaviour norms that are imposed on women in public spaces. The installation, referred to as a ‘portable museum’ by its creators, who eventually hope to travel around the country with it, is being exhibited at Max Mueller Bhavan in Bangalore on January 14th and 15th.
