Genesia Alves lives in Bandra, and so have her mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. She recently got so fed up with BMC constantly digging up roads and leaving places looking like sites of post-apocalyptic destruction that she decided to take this kind of hilarious photo, a recreation of a famous photo taken in the United Kingdom of a woman drinking tea on a pile of rubble in the aftermath of the Blitz during World War II.

Alves told the Mumbai Mirror that the photo is in the true spirit of Bandra humour. A quick look through the comments also reveals that she’s wearing Bata school shoes painted blue by her daughter. 🙂
