J-pop fans, we know you’re out there!
Babymetal is a Japanese metal idol band comprising of Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal), Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal), and Moa Kikuchi (Moametal). They define their style as kawaii (cute) metal, and says that it’s supposed to be a mix of J-pop idol and heavy metal, which sounds pretty out there, but there you have it. All three of the girls dance, and perform vocals, and are pretty renown for their energy during live performances. Amusingly, none of the three were familiar with metal until they became part of the group.
The girls are really young: when they debuted, their average was 12, making them amongst the youngest to perform at the metal festivals they’ve featured in worldwide, hence the name Babymetal. They’ve even opened for Guns N’ Roses! Now, all of the members are below the age of 20.
A documentary profiling their life and music released late this May. Enjoy!
This article has been corrected to reflect the current age of the band members.

“average age of the three girls is 12” – rubbish! 19, 17 & 17

Checking Wikipedia (at least) doesn’t hurt. Their age 12? Like 7 years ago was 12. Please before making a blog post at least do a simple research.

“The girls are really young: when they debuted, their average was 12”
The author did their research since the band debuted in 2010. Way to fail at reading comprehension….
