Please Enjoy Watching Pakistan’s ‘Justin Bibis’ Singing Baby While Their Mom Accompanies on a Lota

June 9, 2017

Still from BBC Urdu

Have you heard of the Justin Bibis? Don’t you feel like just saying the name over and over again?

Saania and Muqqadas Tabaydar are Pakistani sisters from Lahore, and are now 15 and 17 years old, respectively. They’re huge Justin Bieber fans: they say that the first time they heard him sing, they forgot to eat and sleep, and lost their hearts to him immediately.

A viral video of them from 2015, which features them singing Justin Bieber’s hit single Baby, has resurfaced this week, and really, we’re glad for any excuse to talk about the Justin Bibis. Plus, would you just look at all the swag contained in Muqqadas’ highly mobile left eyebrow? Uff yaar.

They don’t know English, so they sound out the words and write them down in Urdu. They also don’t go to school, so the fame that their viral video brought them was new and exciting: they got to have makeovers and fly in an airplane for the first time, things they’ve always dreamed of. After the video went viral, they became celebrities in their home town of Lahore, and continue to be successful singers in Pakistan.
