I believe that if something exists and you cannot see why the hell not, it is something that the world actually really needed.

Telugu writer Rajani Sakuntala gave orders to a printing mill in Andhra Pradesh to create 50 Baahubali themed sarees for herself and her close friends to wear to the premiere of Baahubali 2.

She posted a picture of herself and her friends wearing it that was retweeted several times on Twitter (including by Raveena Tandon), and shared on other social media platforms too. Because the sarees were so popular and clearly loved, Sakuntala received messages from people asking how they could get their hands on one too. In response to popular demand, they are planning to make 500 more Baahubali themed sarees.

The first 50 sarees created by Sakuntala feature Devasena (Anushka Shetty) and Amarendra Bahubali (Prabhas). Sakuntala says that the next 500 sarees will feature Bhallaladeva (Rana Daggubatti) and Sivagami (Ramya Krishnan). Just like in Bahubali 2, Tamannaah Bhatia seems to be missing from future editions of the Bahubali saree.

The Baahubali craze isn’t restricted to India or anything. It’s broken records worldwide, and is topping box offices in Australia, North America and New Zealand, beating even The Circle, starring Tom Hands and Emma Watson. It’s also seen fans flying in to India to catch the movie in its very first week.

By the way, the headline is a joke. We all need Banarasi sarees in our lives 🙂
